Thank you for visiting my website Life Survival Blog, I look forward to meeting like minded people looking for answers or dialogue about learning how to survive in a fragile world we live in today. Many things go on everyday that people don’t hear about that affects you, your family and your finances.
After growing up in a low income family of five during the hard days of the 70’s and 80’s I joined the US Army as an armored soldier learning how to use every weapon I could get my hands on from a 9 mm to 120 mm and trained daily, at least once a week we would do a Preventive Maintenance Checks on our vehicles one of the most lethal weapons on the battle field, the M1 Tank and our hand weapons, Grease Gun Cal. 45, two machine guns the M240 and M50 Caliber. We trained for every scenario possible from navigation without GPS just compass and maps, target acquisition and many other classified trainings which I always wondered why so much training, right ?
Well the answer came in 1990.
In 1990, I was called to serve in the Gulf War but as my previous work in Military Intelligence I was recruited to the Command Center Vehicle wear communications to command and control of operations from above to the front lines with intelligence gathering to accomplishing our mission.
The one lesson I picked up after finishing my career in the US Army was, that should we have not prepared spending countless days and hours training, preventive maintenance on our vehicles we could not just walk in to stabilize the opponent strategically and swiftly as we did.
Then while of working in the private sector for a big company I ended up getting downsized and loosing my job finding myself lost for a moment before regaining my senses and realizing that I would loose everything I worked so hard for, being complacent when I was making good income, nice new home and nice family to loose it all and letting my guards down and not being prepared for what was about to happen.
So, my two options were to give up or dust off my knees and recover. Of course I chose the latter but learned a very valuable lesson to never make the same mistake again and never be complacent ever again.
